I think it’s a great idea. With my healthcare provider at work changes every year or every six months – I get comfortable with the doctor that I have and then to be quickly snatched away because he/she will not take my new health care provider. I would like to be able to know how good my next doctor would be. And how do I find that out? If I talk to people that have been patients by my future doctor. Likewise, if anyone inquires about my doctor – I could provide answers that may lead them to choose him as well.
Or, a similar situation with my sister. She has a child with mild autism. When she learned this, she was adamant to find out about the causes and cures. She logged on to the internet and visited as many health care websites that she could find to obtain information about the case. As a family as well, she needed support to understand how to deal with a child with autism. Wouldn’t it be nice if she can go to a site like Hopecube.com – Health Social Networking Site , enter your zip code and lookup anyone who may be going through the same thing and obtain information and support? Well search no more.
Hopecube.com is unique in that it takes the user-generated content concept like MySpace or YouTube and applies it to the specific needs of patients and doctors. Dubbed a “Health 2.0″ site, it seamlessly integrates cutting-edge technology with easy-to-use tools, so even those with poor computer skills can participate.
Hopecube.com also offers doctors a distinct advantage, by giving them direct access to patients through a social networking interface. For example, a doctor can add all his patients into his social network then, post bulletins to share breakthroughs and information with everyone, or check up on a single patient’s progress through blogs and email.
You can join and become a member of the site for free. It already provides many useful information about different types of ailments such as cancer , Asperger symptoms, back pain and many others. You can connect with people who suffer the same ailments or are concerned about those ailments. You can even connect with health care professionals that may be able to offer you advice and recommendations.
I think that this concept is excellent and it will become a good resource for anyone seeking support and information. For more information, visit http://hopecube.com/
